I've decided to fall in love with the place I live in!
Living in one place for a long period of time makes us "blind" to all the beauty that surrounds us. One day I've decided to become a tourist in my native city.
I don't need a map or navigating system in my city when I walk. Oh, no, it doesn't mean that I know every back street and alley. I just love to get lost sometimes. Walking on foot it doesn't happen that often. Alas!
Well, camera is with me! Let's get started!
Medical Institute |
This Medical Institute is in the old building. There are not so many old buildings in the center. It's very crowded during the week and difficult to find parking place. On Sundays city center is pretty quiet and very pleasant for walking.
Brick gates are hard to find. These are amazing! I'm saying (actually writing) amazing because I love everything old, everything that has a history or at least a story behind.
Modern adjoins old |
There is an opportunity (which I haven't used yet) to take a bike and have a ride. I think we can open more and more interesting places. Walking on foot is also a nice exercise.
Maternity hospital |
This one looks similar to the Medical Institute (they are neighbours). I guess the students come to practice here. I wanted to ask you one thing. Next photo is not very nice. Let's be honest - it's disgusting! (in my opinion)
Just opposite the maternity house the wall with all the thanks from the "newborn" fathers. The same is done on the road. I don't think it's what the mothers need at this sacred moment. Does it look beautiful? Do you have this in your place? Just thoughts.
What surpised me in a good way was the dovecote I had found in one of the yards.
In my childhood dovecotes were usual constructions in every yard. Not now anymore. They always looked exactly this way. It seems like people used to build them from the leftover materials. Didn't care about the style, colour, quality. And what beautiful and extraordinary doves live there.
There were more unusual species. Just believe me.
When I see these types of decoration (especially on the window ones) I feel myself abroad. Frankly speaking, this isn't smething that you may see in our places. In Germany, Italy, France, Greece, well, almost any European country or America this is usual way to decorate the windows and entries. It's just coming to Russia (sorry, Russians if I'm wrong). In Kazan it's something that happens seldom. But as I see everything is changing for better.
Wagtail |
These birds are pretty coward in the country, but in the city I feel like I may catch them. I will never do it!
So let's become tourists not only when we travel. You know what, it's pretty easy to find interesting, historical places somewhere in Paris (my favourite city), London (have never been there), Dresden (so many historical places), Amsterdam (love it in winter). Try to find something special about your place!
Have a nice journey!
Love you!
